Interview with Author Ritika Saha
Ritika Saha is an artist, designer and a poet. She from the very beginning showed interest in art and painting. Her passion was not hidden from her parents so they sent her to art school where she graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. Poetry hit her when she started her university in 2015, where experiences led her to write. Ritika wrote and illustrated Dancing in the Storms in her university days.
- Tell us something about yourself.
My name is Ritika Saha. I’m 23 years old. I am a graduate with a degree in fine arts. I work with a designing company as a graphic designer. My hobbies are painting, writing etc.
- What compelled you to write this book?
I started writing in 2017 where experiences led me to write. In the beginning I just used to scribble my feeling and thoughts, never thought I’ll be publishing my book. But as I started reading poetry and quotes I told myself maybe I too can try to write a book. That’s how I came up with this.
- For how long have you been writing this book? What challenges did you face while writing?
I started writing since 2017 and I decided to write my first book in the beginning of 2018. I never faced a lot of challenges as I wrote down whatever I felt. Small challenges were composing of rhyming words as I was not a literature student and I was not very much of a bookworm. So it took me some time to do the rhyming of some poems.
- Is writing your hobby or passion?
Writing is both my hobby and passion. I write whenever I get time. Writing heals me and soothes my soul. It calms down my heart.
- Are you planning to write again?
Yes I’m planning to write again. I’ll be working on my second book soon.
- Do you have any piece of advice for the budding writers?
I’d tell the young upcoming writers to just pour out their heart and soul on the paper with utmost honesty. That will be enough.
