The Unexpected Glitch with Chandrayaan 2 Could Not Demotivate India’s Willpower!
What exactly happened?
ISRO lost all contact with Vikram, Chandrayaan 2’s lander, just some minutes before reaching the South Pole region of Moon. The whole Nation was waiting to experience the success with bated breath. Every observation showed normal performance up to a distance of 2.1 km.
The descent was smooth and looked promising in the earlier part of the mission. But as soon as a distance of just two miles was to be covered, the trajectory deviated from the path that was properly planned. A deathly silence engulfed the mission control room; disturbed and fear-stricken faces of the ISRO scientists screamed about the lost communications from the Vikram lander. Many witnessed that a staff member patted Chief K. Sivan, the director of India’s space program, on the back as he was on the verge of breaking down completely.
But suddenly, completely disheartened and panic-stricken ISRO scientists declared that all connections were lost! At the wee hours of Saturday, the world witnessed the failed attempt of India to land Chandrayaan 2 at the Southern surface of the moon. A forlorn Chief K Sivan, declared, “Subsequently communication was lost. Data is being analysed.”
What is India Saying?
Though the mission seemed to have failed for the time being, every individual of the nation cheered and praised the ISRO scientists for their efforts. It is known by all that every success stands on a mountain of failures. Every heart believes that ISRO will come back with a much better plan in the future. Everyone is hoping and praying that ISRO will be able to achieve a success 10-fold with a new space mission.
PM Modi encouraged the ISRO team and said, “Every difficulty, every struggle, every obstacle teaches us something new. It inspires to invent newer technologies. And this determines our future success. The greatest teacher of knowledge is science. There is no failure in science, only experiments and efforts.”
Modi even added in a tweet, “India is proud of our scientists! They’ve given their best and have always made India proud. These are moments to be courageous, and courageous we will be! Isro chairman gave updates on Chandrayaan-2. We remain hopeful and will continue working hard on our space programme.”
Many other renowned personalities such as Ahmed Patel, Siddaramaiah, Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal, BS Yediyurappa, Venkaiah Naidu, and many more tweeted and showed respect and hope for the ISRO scientists ’ diligent efforts. The whole Nation unitedly is encouraging the ISRO team and praying for the success of India’s much-awaited space mission.
Progress Forward with a Courageous Heart
ISRO team are determined to progress toward success with a brave heart. So what if the landing may have failed for the time being? India could definitely try for the moon again. The near future will open up many other possibilities for our Nation. Thus, our country is proud to declare that it plans to build robotic explorers headed for Mars, Venus, and even the sun. In the upcoming decade, India is planning to send astronauts into the orbit of the Earth for the first time aboard its own spacecraft.
