Controversies do not leave SRK. And this time King Khan has got the Yash Chopra of controversies – the CBFC chief, Pahlaj Nihalani. The head of censor board has found the word ‘intercourse’ quite inappropriate in the trailer of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Pahlaj Nihalani – the Sanskari Purush throws open challange
Nihalani said that although will not ask for cuts in the trailer of the movie this time, but he can only allow the release if this one gets 100,000 votes! The censor board chief said in an interview that he felt it was not appropriate for a 12-year-old kid to hear the word ‘intercourse’ and that is the primary reason he had asked for the cut.
CBFC and its’ latest track records
CBFC has already a steady record of banning movies in differnt “sanskari” grounds. The latest list of the victims also include “The Insignificant Man” featuring the life of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. CBFC has recently banned the release of the movie, Lipstick Under My Burkha as it was talking about women’s need and their desire to have sex.
The CBFC head had been reported to say, “If you take the voting from the public, I will promise you that I will clear this word, in the trailer as well as the picture.” He went on to challenge people to gather one lakh votes to allow Jab Harry Met
