India is in its dream run in Bollywood. Producers & distributors are earning ten digit mullahs from superstars like Salman Khan, Rajnikanth, Aamir Khan on a regular basis. The steady Indian economy and the increasing urge of Indian middle-class to get entertained with “Happy Ending” is ultimately ending at multiplexes in big cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, and Kolkata. In this article, I will share 6 different not-so-popular Bollywood movies which have excellent storylines and you will surely like them.

The trend of running to multiplex theaters to experience the typical Bollywood masala movies is now also getting shifted to lower middle-class families. Whereas, the higher middle-class, some of which are bored with typical heroism based cliché plots, are experimenting watching some different Hindi movies which are used to get tagged as “hatke” movies. The decent business statistics created by the movies like “Kahaani”, “Drishyam”, “Maadari”, “Piku”, “Talwar” and mass rejection of so-called “born to be a block-bluster” like “Dilwale” are letting us witness the changing phase in Bollywood. Producers and distributors are staking more on some low budget movie with unique scripts. Hard-core commercial actors like Shah Rukh Khan are getting courageous to publicly announce the list of “hatke” films in their bucket for next two years.

But, if we go back few years in time, there were already some interestingly good “hatke” but “not so popular” movies, some of which were rejected by producers-distributors and some were rejected by box-office just because of not having so-called superstars shaking booty in some typical “masala” item song.

Here I am prescribing six such kind of “hatke” and “not so popular” Bollywood movies, which will for sure force you to fall in love again with Bollywood.
