Interview with Author Gulnaaz Saif
Gulnaaz Saif was born on 25th November, 1993 in the city of Bhadrak, Odisha to a businessman dad Gul Mohammad Khan and a home maker mom Shehnaaz Khannam. As a tiny tot, she was taught how to dream by her dad, whom she considers the best man of her life. Despite being from a family in which girls education was given least important, her unique dad always craved a quality education for her and her siblings. This laid the foundation of her dreams. Gradually she grew up into a lady of dreams who always aspires to inspire before she expires.
“I wanted to fly and he became my sky.”
The one liner she uses to describe the man of her life. Time flew and she tied the wedding knot with the man of perfection Sayed Saif e Rasool whom she considers a world class husband, who accepted her at her worst and mined the best out of her. All credits to him who not only recognized her dreams but also bestowed her with all the facilities and platform to make her realise her dreams. The person who became the sky for her to fly high.
- Tell us something about yourself.
Meet me. I am Gulnaaz Saif, born to bring smiles and cheers on the faces of others.
Hailing from a small town, I dream of touching the sky. From winning the best student title to the university topper, I have engraved my name on many such accolades. From being a teacher to a business woman, nothing could satiate my soul but writing. I am a successful author of my debut book Passion to Profession that is read, loved and cherished by my fans. My quest is to stir happiness in the lives of others through my books. I dream of a world full of love, compassion and affection. I write about hope, love, dream, courage, enthusiasm and happiness. Speaking about the personal aspect of my life, I am blessed with the most adorable and supportive entrepreneur husband, Sayed Saif Rasool, who has been instrumental in digging out my love for writing and I owe all my success to him. I am the coolest mom of my lovely boy, Zaif, who is also my source of happiness.
- What compelled you to write this book?
There are two things that have compelled me to compile the book LOVE YOU ZINDAGI. The first one is a saying from the Holy Quran that goes “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you (in favor).” This very quote is what I have been following all my life. I sternly believe that all my happiness is because of my gratefulness and faith in the Almighty. The second one is related to my real-life experiences. My experiences of life say that whatever happens happen for good. God always has a better plan for us. So I quote it is as “Life is always about God’s plan B when you are hyper focused on your plan A.” So these are the two reasons behind the creation of this very book LOVE YOU ZINDAGI.
- From how long have you been writing this book? What challenges did you face while writing?
I was probably in Class 11 when I composed my first poem titled ‘LONELINESS’ which was liked and praised on Facebook. Since then I have been writing. I have always dreamt of publishing a book. But could never do because of lack of inspiration. It was in the first year of my marriage in the year 2019 and under the motivational shade of my husband that I wrote my debut book Passion To Profession. LOVE YOU ZINDAGI is my second book and I have been writing it since February 2020 soon after the publication of my debut book in January 2020. The only challenge that I have faced during the whole journey of writing this book was the management of time.
- What is the most memorable moment for you throughout the journey of the book?
I always enjoy the journey more than destination. So throughout my journey of writing what I have enjoyed the most is the pleasure of writing. Secondly what have excited me the most are the messages from my readers describing me the effect of my book in their lives. A heartfelt thanks to each one of them.
- Is writing your hobby or passion?
Writing is just my everything.
- Are you planning to write again?
Yuppp!!! I am planning to write for eternity.
- Do you believe that when author dies a reader is born?
The interpretation of the words of author is not under his control. The author holds no sovereignty over his own words. It can be deciphered and interpreted by different reader in different ways. When an author allows readers to read his word, he passes the power of interpretation to them. The reader then draws his own conclusion. I feel that’s the beauty of reading and writing. So I believe that the death of an author gives birth to a reader.
- For you, what is literary success?
According to me, literary success is just reaching hearts of readers. You are a literary success if your words are powerful enough to touch a reader’s soul. The numerical count of your readers may be less but the depth of their review is all that matters. While numerical count depends largely upon your marketing strategy.
- Do you have any piece of advice for the budding authors out there?
My advice to budding authors is simple. Just grab a pen and a notebook. Find a peaceful environment or you may choose any of your favorite lands. And then just pen down whatsoever comes to your mind. Fantasize and create your world. More than just thinking about the success of your book, enjoy your journey of writing. Because no book is a perfect book. So just enjoy the process.
- What it’s like to be with 24by7 Publishing?
